Antonella Palmisano third

Excellent performance for Antonella Palmisano in the march classic in Podebrady. The Tokyo Olympic champion finished in third place with a time of 1h27:27 in the first 20 km of the season: è her third career performance, just one second away from the chrono with which she won bronze last year at the World Championships in Budapest, and è a decidedly encouraging result ahead of the European Championships in Rome (in two months, appointment with the 20 km on June 7) and the Paris Olympics in which she will try’to confirm her gold on August 1°, in less than four months.

In the Czech Republic, the Italian from the Yellow Flames fights on equal terms, for sixteen kilometers, with Peruvian Kimberly Garcia Leon, two-time world champion in Eugene 2022 (20 km and 35 km) who runs away in the last four laps and triumphs in 1h27:08. Ahead of the’azzurra is also Ecuadorian Glenda Morejon, sixth in Budapest, today second in 1h27:21.

She can rejoice Eleonora Giorgi (Fiamme Azzurre) who signs the entry standard for the Paris Games with 1h28:47 (required 1h29:20) and finishes the race in seventh place. Also in the top ten is Valentina Trapletti (Army), tenth with a time of 1h30:05, which confirms her good moment of form.
