The derby is Roma’s: Mancini sends Lazio down

The derby of the Capital goes to Roma. Deciding the challenge at the Olimpico è a Gianluca Mancini header in the final minutes of the first half gave the Giallorossi the victory, as they returned to winning the derby after two years. It was also the first win for De Rossi in a stracittadina as coach, bitter debut instead for Tudor.

Roma started strongly right away with a Paredes shot that finished just high over the crossbar; Lazio responded on 7' with a shot just wide by Immobile from a deflected position. On 23' Pellegrini engaged Mandas with a fine right-footed shot from distance. Ten minutes later Celik went close to the lead with a header over the crossbar. In the final minutes of the first half, the Giallorossi unlocked the game with Mancini who perfectly framed Dybala’s corner from the left.

In the second half, De Rossi’s men came close to doubling the score in 54': Lukaku restarted on a counterattack and served El Shaarawy but his shot smashed against the post. At 63' the Biancocelesti found the equalizer with Kamada, who forò è was clearly offside. Tudor also played the Luis Alberto card but Lazio's onslaught did not produce the desired effects.

Roma thus conquers three very precious points in view of Champions, rising to 55, -2 from Bologna, fourth, while Lazio remains stuck at 46, in seventh place.
