Monte Carlo: too much Auger-Aliassime for Luca Nardi

Too much Felix Auger-Aliassime for Luca Nardi, making his main draw debut at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, in the first round of the Monaco Masters 1000. In fact, the Marche-based tennis player, coming from the qualifiers, had to surrender to the Canadian, number 35 in the ATP ranking, in two sets (2-6 3-6) after an hour and 22 minutes of play.
In the first set the balance lasted until 2-2: here Auger-Aliassime changed pace and strung together a run of four consecutive games, closing 6-2 in his favor. Little history also in the second set in which è only a break made the difference but that came already in the fourth game: the Canadian goes up 3-1 and administers the lead without problems, making the second partial his 6-3.
Nardi thus has to say goodbye to the tournament in the Principality, while Auger-Aliassime advances to the second round where he will face Carlos Alcaraz, number three in the world and third seed in the seeding.
On Monday, among the Azzurri, also engaged Matteo Arnaldi against Indian lucky loser Sumit Nagal, in singles, and the pair formed by Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Sonego, opposing Belgians Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen, and that composed of Lorenzo Musetti and Nicolas Jarry, who will face Argentines Maximo Gonzalez and Nicolas Molteni, in doubles.
