Jannik Sinner, the time of the debut in Monte Carlo
Jannik Sinner è ready to make his debut in the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, the third 1000 event of the season and first on clay. The South Tyrolean tennis player, as the second seed in the seeding, will start directly from the second round where he will face the U.S. Sebastian Korda, number 27 in the ATP rankings, who swept the Spanish Davidovich Fokina in two sets (6-1 6-2).
The one between Sinner and Korda will be the second scheduled match on the center court, the 'Court Ranier III'. Opening the dances, at 11:00 a.m., will be defending champion Andrey Rublev, the sixth seed in the seeding, who will face Australian Alexei Popyrin, number 46 in the world rankings.
There are two precedents between Sinner and Korda: the first dates back to the round of 16 of the Washington ATP 500 in 2021, when the Italian won with a double 7-6; the second, however, is more recent and the winner was Korda, who defeated Jannik in the quarterfinals of the Adelaide ATP 250 in two sets (7-5 6-1).
