Carlos Alcaraz trembles, Barcelona tournament also at risk
Spanish outfielder è struggling with right arm round pronator muscle
Alcaraz has decided not to take the court in Monte Carlo (in his place è Sonego has been fished out). The problem with the right arm round pronator muscle is not è to be underestimated and, therefore, better not to risk making it worse. The Spaniard's entourage preferred to see it through and allow Alcaraz to rest a couple of days to try to make the arm problem go away.
As reported by Marca, after two days of absolute rest, Alcaraz will tryà to return to training to see if the worst è is behind him, so that he can decide whether or not to participate in the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, an ATP 500 tournament scheduled for April 15-21. An event that Alcaraz particularly cares about, considering that he has won the last two editions.
Also having so many points to defend as far as the ATP ranking is concerned, he can't absolutely skip the appointment with the Barcelona tournament but a decision on his presence or not will be made only on Friday, then after some post-injury training. The recent past has confirmed how Alcaraz needs to be in 100 percent physical condition to play at his highest level. Otherwise, he struggles a lot on the field.
