Monte Carlo, Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori to quarterfinals in doubles
Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori continue the adventure in the Principality
Thanks to a largely dominant performance, Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori overcame the Argentines Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni in the round of 16 of the doubles draw at the Monte Carlo Masters 1000, thus landing in the quarterfinals of the tournament in the Principality. 6-1, 6-3 the partials of a match that lasted 67'.
Immediately started with a game won on their opponents’ serve, the match was, for Bolelli and Vavassori, an opportunity to further refine their already important understanding on the court, in the face of two opponents who, although not starting as sacrificial victims (they were the eighth seed in the tournament), could not do anything nor did they ever give the feeling of being able to come back the result.
Bolelli and Vavassori had overcome in the first round the duo composed of Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech and Valentin Vacherot of Monaco, before meeting and beating Gonzalez and Molteni. Awaiting the two Italians in the quarters are Marcelo Arevalo, an athlete from El Salvador, and Croatian Mate Pavic.
