Olimpia Milano out of the Euroleague, Ettore Messina’s regrets
A knockout that makes it necessary to take stock overall.
Olimpia Milano defeated 92-86 by Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Euroleague, a competition it would have abandoned anyway because of the Red Star’s simultaneous knockout on the court of Anadolu Efes that had made it arithmetically impossible to reach the play-in. And the first hot reaction of Ettore Messina è under the banner of bitterness, mixed with the desire to find redemption as quickly as possible.
"It was not easy to compete for the team, but everyone did it even after knowing what was happening in Istanbul,” Messina remarked to the microphones of 'Sky Sport' -That is why I feel good, we tried to hope that what è happened did not happen. We wanted to win, for the effort we produced. We did not succeed, now we turn the page".
"Our situation è difficult, becauseé we lost a starting guard all season and then there were so many injuries. This year è it has been tough and the season bitter. We didn't do well enough on the road, we lost games due to lack of continuity, and we won others against top-level opponents. By now è thatè has gone, we hope to return to the top level as soon as possible", concluded Messina.
