Fernando Alonso’s motivations behind renewal with Aston Martin

During an intervention at the microphones of the "BBC", Fernando Alonso, among other topics discussed, spoke about the motivations behind his decision to continue his adventure in F1 and renew his contract with the "BBC"Aston Martin until 2026, effectively closing the door on Mercedes, which è is looking for Lewis Hamilton’s successor, since the Englishman will land at Ferrari in 2025 in place of Carlos Sainz.

"Aston Martin è was the team that made me feel most wanted, with the others there were negotiations, but very superficial. When I realized that I wanted to continue racing I had no doubts because è this team has always considered me a priority. What I signed with them è the longest project I have been linked to in my career, we have already achieved results unthinkable on the eve of 2023 and I think this is just the beginning" began the Spanish driver.

"We have such a transparent relationship that if I notice that I'm losing strokes' I will raise my hand immediately and we will sit at the table to find the best solution for everyone, but I do not think that this is an eventuality that can present itself in the short term" added the former Ferrari.

"I breathe F1, I live for F1, I train and diet exclusively to keep racing. I think the paddock is still my place, of course è a sacrifice not to spend time with my family, but we will arrange to see each other more often. For example, in Miami my mother, sister and my two nieces" will come, concluded Fernando Alonso.
