Luciano Darderi to scream: first joy in a Masters 1000

Historic afternoon for Luciano Darderi at the Madrid Masters 1000. The Italian tennis player, in fact, è imposed himself at the debut in two sets over Frenchman Gael Monfils with the score of 6-4 6-2, in one hour and eighteen minutes, winning his first career victory at the 1000 level.
In the first set, Darderi è adept at taking advantage of numerous errors made by Monfils and quickly took a 4-1 lead. The Frenchman, however, managed to get back into the match only partially by recovering one of the two break disadvantages. The azure, from that moment, manages to control the pace and close the first fraction on 6-4.
In the second partial, Monfils’ free errors continued to be many, and Darderi quickly managed to place a double break. Unlike in the first set, the Italian tennis player managed the double advantage great, closing the match on 6-2.
In the second round of the Madrid Masters 1000, the 2002 class will face U.S. Taylor Fritz (number 12 seed).
