Adrian Newey, Ferrari getting closer: Red Bull’s next moves
The approach march to Maranello begins.
Adrian Newey and Ferrari are getting closer and closer, with the engineer who has linked his signature to the Red Bull successes of the past 15 years getting closer and closer to parting ways with the Anglo-Austrian team. Despite timid denials from Milton Keynes, in fact, the time when the parties will make their mutual goodbye official appears to be getting closer.
A confirmation comes from the news agency 'PA', according to which already by next Monday the decisive meeting between Newey and Red Bull will take place. It is a meeting at which they will try to work out the details of the contractual termination (the engineer has an agreement with the team until 2025). He who is expected to become the creator of the Ferrari of the future will also try to wrest favorable conditions to be able to say sì to Maranello quickly, reducing the "gardening" that in Formula 1 requires engineers not to work immediately for teams rival to those from which they come.
Adrian Newey's farewell, moreover, was commented on recently by Ivan Capelli, who knows him from the days when he managed to amaze with the March designed by the then young engineering genius himself. "They put themselves in this situation, a hallucinating own goal", he told the 'Gazzetta dello Sport' the former Ferrari driver, referring to Red Bull's recent moves.
Capelli è also convinced that, if Newey were to leave Red Bull, he would bring all his most trusted collaborators with him to Ferrari. All situations to be clarified within a few days, perhaps already; before next Monday.
