Another victory to continue our hopes for Europe.

Lazio still winning, for the fourth time in a row and third in Serie A. The Biancocelesti won 1-0 over a combative Verona, taking them temporarily to -3 points from fifth-place Roma (and thus now qualified for the Champions League) and +1 over a side Atalanta that, forò still has two games to make up compared to the Biancocelesti. Either way, the path of Igor Tudor’s men toward qualification for the upcoming cups continues.

The match turned out to be very open, so much so that in the first five minutes first Guendouzi on one side and then Noslin on the other tried. Then è Castellanos to call Coppola to the great defensive intervention, although the action was vitiated by a foul. Montipò closed the door on Isaksen and then opposed Felipe Anderson, then it was the same Isaksen and Luis Alberto who failed to take advantage of two excellent chances to put Lazio ahead. Before halftime, however, came a colossal chance for Verona as well: Swiderski missed everything with an empty goal.

Resume with a strong-willed Lazio: phenomenal Montipò to graze a ball kicked by Felipe Anderson and send it against the crossbar. Luis Alberto once again not è precise in two circumstances, then è the newly-entered Pedro to miss aim. The hosts’ growth è evident, and è the former Zaccagni to capitalize on it at 72': his is the ball stolen from Suslov, his is the decisive touch for the game-winning goal after the triangulation with Luis Alberto. In the final è miraculous Mandas on Coppola’s header, then came another biancoceleste woodwork with Pedro’s post.

Lazio now awaits the away match in Monza to give further continuity to the chase for Europe (and maybe the Champions League). Verona, on the other hand, at +3 on the relegation zone: the next match will see the Gialloblù host Fiorentina at the Bentegodi.
