Jannik Sinner identifies the main change in mindset from 2023
During an interview given to the microphones of the "Financial Times", Jannik Sinner, among other topics, dwelt on those aspects on both the physical and mental level that allowed him to make a qualitative leap forward from the 2023 season. In addition, the South Tyrolean tennis player spent words of gratitude towards his parents.
"Compared to a year ago I am in a very different position, becauseè in my mind I know that I am able to do certain things that I did not think I could do before. Calmness and clarityè are two very important aspects for me, becauseè they allow you to see things better and faster. When you are frustrated, è like if you drive fast in the car but you don't see well what's out there" began the South Tyrolean tennis player.
"When I was 12 or 13 years old I participated in a ski race. The first test was the downhill, where you had to jump even for 30 0 40 meters and when you are a child è scary. So I told myself that maybe I was too scared to go skiing. I chose to play tennis because è for me, it è a healthy competition. You have no contact with your opponent, but you can still hurt him" added the world number two.
"When I was younger, I participated in a couple of tournaments and lost. And when I called my parents to explain what had happened they always told me to put it off becauseè they were at work. At that point I realized that of course results matter, but what really matters è trying to work hard, wake up and go about your business with a smile. They gave me a really positive mindset with a very good work ethic" concluded Jannik Sinner.
