Sinner to the round of 16

Jannik Sinner è qualified for the round of 16 at the Madrid tournament after overcoming 6-2, 7-5 Kotov in an hour and 38 minutes of play but it certainly wasn&#39t a walk in the park for the South Tyrolean who suffered until the end and not only because of his opponent.

In the first set è everything happened, with break and counterbreak. The world number two, fresh from a clear victory in the derby opener with Sonego, struggled more than usual on serve but in response put in the shots that allowed him to fly to 1-0.

In the second partial, Sinner began experiencing a problem in his right hip and even addressed Coach Vagnozzi with eloquent "I hurt". Despite the pain, the South Tyrolean recovered a break disadvantage and on the fourth match point of a tough game closed the score.
