Absent from the courts since June last year, after a first-round loss in the Stuttgart tournament against Yibing Wu, Nick Kyrgios revealed in an interview on the UTS circuit that he will return to competition as early as next month. First in doubles, then in singles.

The Australian, enfant terrible of the circuit, had enjoyed a wonderful 2022 season (doubles title at the Australian Open, singles final at Wimbledon) before his body gave problems. First a knee cyst that required an operation in January 2023, then a wrist ligament problem in June of that year.

“I am also here to train. For two weeks, I will try to hit the ball with tournament players and test my wrist. My surgery was 10 months ago and I continue to prepare for my return. The idea è to resume in doubles next month. It will be very motivating. After that, if all goes well, I will continue with singles“.
