Filippo Drago renews with Benetton Rugby

After the renewal of Tommaso Menoncello, Benetton Rugby announces another important confirmation. The green-and-white franchise, in fact, has announced the contract extension until June 30, 2025 of Filippo Drago, with an option for further extension until June 30, 2026.

Born in Treviso on Dec. 24, 2001, Filippo Drago è a center who is very skilled in both offensive and defensive phases. Trained passing through the Permanent Training Center in Treviso and crossed the path to the Under-17 and Under-18 national teams, he è showcased in the Under-20 Six Nations in 2021. Drago in the 2020/21 season è has also been a fixture for Mogliano Rugby in the TOP10, having played 13 matches, scoring three tries and keeping a very high level of performance for a young man of his ageà.

Dividing his time between Mogliano and Benetton as a permit, in the 2021/2022 season – fledgling international rugby of the biggest – he earned several caps with the Lions’ first team thanks to consistent contributions on both sides of the field. In the last two years he è carved out an excellent space among the green-and-white team’s rotations, showing very good things and lots of room for growth. Drago has always responded when called upon, racking up 20 appearances and one goal with the Lions to date. For him also a cap with Italy A. Drago enriches the platoon of centers available to coach Marco Bortolami’s coaching staff.
