After his 22.11 at the Assoluti in La Spezia, he had announced that he would compete in Italy before international commitments in Szekesfehervar (July 9, Continental Tour Gold) and London (July 20, Diamond League). È the meeting in Pergine Valsugana, Trentino, Italy, on the late afternoon of Saturday, July 6 (from 7:45 p.m.), will host the throws of European champion Leonardo Fabbri. The’Aeronautica blue, now ready to face the five-ring event (in exactly one month, on August 3, è the final is scheduled at the Stade de France) returns to the platform after the eight consecutive successes of the last two months, always with throws over twenty-two meters.

Last year the Pergine meeting had brought luck to Fabbri, who won with 21.81, one of the best pre-Budapest measures, a prelude to the world silver won in Hungary. This time the athlete coached by Paolo Dal Soglio arrives with an entirely different international status and with a personal best of 22.95 (Italian record in Savona), current second world performance of the year, ready to play all his cards at the Paris Olympics.

With him, in the Trentino event organized by Polisportiva Oltrefersina and Non Solo Running, the European indoor champion Zane Weir (Fiamme Gialle) will be seen again in Trentino to regain the feeling with the platform after the ankle sprain that has affected the last two months of the fifth-ranked Tokyo runner. Also present will be up-and-coming Riccardo Ferrara (Carabinieri), 20.93 in Nembro, vice-champion of Italy with 20.34 in La Spezia. Also entered is South African Kyle Blignaut. Among the other protagonists, the tricolor of the long Elisa Naldi (Carabinieri) and the runner-up of the high Asia Tavernini (Fiamme Oro).
