It goes to Lorenzo Musetti the derby with Luciano Darderi in the second round of Wimbledon. The Carrara-based tennis player, the 25th seed, defeated the Italo-Argentine, number 37 in the ATP rankings, in five sets with a final score of 6-4 4-6 6-7 6-4 6-4 after nearly four hours of battle.

In the first set è the service was the master until 5-4 Musetti. Here the Carrara player raises the level in response and gets two consecutive break points that coincide with two set points: Darderi saves the first, but not the second, with Lorenzo thus making the first partial his.

The second set was decided in the early stages: Musetti did not convert four break points in the second game and took the blow, giving up the serve in the next game. Darderi flies to 4-1, Musetti manages to recover a break disadvantage (3-4) but it is not enough: the Italian-Argentinean evens the score, closing 6-4.

After an initial exchange of breaks, the third set proceeded 'on serve' until 6-6. Even in the tie-break, it is played point-to-point until 5-5: Darderi earns set point with a winning first, Musetti delivers with a double fault that brings Luciano ahead by a set.

In the fourth set è again a double fault made the difference. This time Darderi commits it, giving the break to Musetti who goes up 3-2. Carrara conceded crumbs on serve and kept the lead until the final 6-4, sending everything back to the fifth and decisive set.

In the last partial Musetti scratches the break again in the fifth game with a venomous pass that surprises Darderi. The Carrarino continued to serve well, not conceding any chance to the Italian-Argentine: è just with a first to the center that Lorenzo sealed the victory, giving himself the third round at the Championships.

Now waiting for the world number 25 is the Argentine Francisco Comesana, the big surprise of this Wimbledon, who beat Australian Adam Walton in the fifth set, after resoundingly eliminating in the first round Russian Andrey Rublev, the sixth seeded seed.
