Common goal for Cagliari and Turin

Cagliari and Torino will most likely arrive at the arm wrestling in the market to secure the sporting performance of Sebastiano Luperto, a 1996 class defender who grew up in the youth teams of first Lecce and then Napoli, a member of the Empoli squad from the 2021/22 season.

According to reports from 'Tuttomercatoweb' Cagliari's interest would precede that of Torino, which has reportedly accelerated following the likely farewell of Alessandro Buongiorno, who is being courted by Napoli. The Granata, moreover, have lost another important pawn in the defense, the now released Ricardo Rodriguez: hence the need to find a reinforcement immediately.

Luperto made his Serie A debut in the 2014/15 season, wearing the Napoli jersey: the Neapolitan club sent him out on loan, in the following seasons, first to Pro Vercelli, then to Empoli (for a first move to Tuscany by the player) and finally to Crotone. In the summer of 2021, the move outright to Empoli, with which Luperto played three seasons also wearing the captain’s armband.

Cagliari and Torino will be two of the 20 participants in the 2024/25 Serie A: the islanders are coming off a not-so-easy salvation, which matured in the championship final, while the granata came close to qualifying for the Conference League, which faded due to the defeat in the final of the European competition by Fiorentina, which thus did not "" free" the place for the following season.
