MotoGP, Germany: Maverick Vinales the fastest in pre-qualifying, falls Marc Marquez

The Spaniard of the’Aprilia Maverick Vinales è was the fastest in the free practice session that determined to the top ten direct qualification in tomorrow’s Q2 of the German Grand Prix.

On the Sachsenring circuit, Vinales lapped in 2’29”622 ahead of Ducati Pramac compatriot and world leader Jorge Martin by 340 thousandths and Portuguese Trackhouse Racing’s Miguel Olivera of 362. Fourth at 407 was Spaniard Alex Marquez on the Ducati Gresini.

Fifth at 439 thousandths is world champion Francesco Bagnaia on the factory Ducati, followed at 24 thousandths by his teammate Enea Bastianini. Seventh was Franco Morbidelli on the other Ducati Pramac, eighth was the Spaniard on the KTM Red Bull GasGas Tech 3 Pedro Acosta, ninth was Fabio Di Giannantonio on the Ducati VR 46 Racine and tenth was South African Brad Binder on the official KTM.

First of those momentarily excluded from Q2 was Binder’s own teammate, Australian Jack Miler. Marc Marquez on the Ducati Gresini è thirteenth and on “his” Sachsenring è also ended up ruinously on the ground without getting fractures but has rib problems. He too will have to go through Q1 tomorrow, assuming he can make it.
