George Russell beats Lewis Hamilton again and takes pole at Silverstone, Ferrari in trouble
George Russell on pole at Silverstone ahead of Hamilton, bad Ferrari
After dominating the last free practice session, Mercedes è repeated itself in the qualifying of the Silverstone GP by posting an extraordinary one-two. George Russell set the fastest time of 1:25.819, preceding teammate Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris’ McLaren, 171 and 211 thousandths apart, respectively. Max Verstappen’s Red Bull completes the second row.
In the third row is Oscar Piastri, while the first Ferrari è that of Carlos Sainz who does not go beyond the eighth place, behind also the Haas of Nico Hulkenberg. Eliminated in Q2, however, was Charles Leclerc, who started from the 11th box. Late night also for the other Red Bull of Sergio Perez, who è ended up off the track in Q1 causing the red flag and ending the session.
