Gymnastics at the Olympics

The technical director of the men’s artistic gymnastics section, Giuseppe Cocciaro, flanked by Team Manager Andrea Facci, announced today, in a room at the Palazzetto in Cuneo and in the presence of the entire national team roster, the names of the five gymnasts who, in exactly twenty days, will be part of the’ItalGAM, on the platform at the Olympic Games.

After the’All Around of the 2024 Absolutes that confirmed, in fact, the solidity’and reliability’of the three top generalists, the Italian coach summoned the new Italian champion Lorenzo Minh Casali, the’outgoing Mario Macchiati, both from the Fiamme Oro Group, and the third ranked Yumin Abbadini, a new airman from the’Air Force.

The three FGI bishops, in Paris, will compete on all six apparatuses in the July 27 admission competition, also competing for the two places in the overall competition. The last two pieces fit together, with Nicola Bartolini – who will have to cover that floor exercise in which he will graduate as world champion in 2021 in Kitakyūshū, vault, even parallel bars and possibly the rings – and with Carlo Macchini, a State Police officer, a specialist on bars and pommel horse.

Among the coaches, along with DTN Cocciaro and mission leader Roberto Pentrella, will start Paolo Pedrotti, Alberto Busnari and Marco Fortuna. They remain out, unfortunately, athletes of great value and wonderful people to whom for physical or technical reasons were preferred other performers, however, if we è come to have to make a choice that has been missing for three editions, if there’è been this sacred moment in the belly of the Piedmontese facility, è because è at the Paris Olympics there will be an Italian team, the quintet absent since London 2012, and credit è to all those who contributed, directly or indirectly, to qualify it. Now let’s all cheer on our fantastic five and their coaches, who in less than three weeks will represent, at the Bercy Arena, the prestigious history of Italian men’s artistic gymnastics.
