Chiara Consonni triumphs at Volta Montana, Elisa Longo Borghini still in pink

After succeeding in 2022 and 2023, Chiara Consonni also manages to win a stage of the Giro d'Italia women’s race in 2024. The UAE Team ADQ rider, in fact, è imposed herself in the sprint in the 110 km with departure in Sirmione and arrival in Volta Mantovana, mocking Lotte Kopecky and Elisa Balsamo. " It was a very complicated victory because the breakaway gave us a lot of trouble. Fortunately, we had visioned the finish on the first pass and I understood that to win I had to be as far ahead as possible at the last km" debuted the 1999-class cyclist to the official channels of the Giro.
"It's been a beautiful duel with Lotte Kopecky and Elisa Balsamo nefli last meters and being able to win it è was magnificent" added Chiara Consonni at the end of the second stage.
