Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani's experience in the women's doubles draw at Wimbledon ends in the round of 16. The Italian pair, in fact, è was defeated in two sets by the two Americans Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula with a score of 6-2 6-4.
The first break points of the first set were for the two blues, but the Americans were skillful and even lucky to manage to cancel all three. In the fourth game, comes the stretch by Gauff and Pegula who first break serve, then manage, despite a few too many errors, to extend the lead to 5-1. After three consecutive games lost, Errani and Paolini have a mini reaction and recover a break, but the gap è too wide and the Americans manage to close the partial immediately on 6-2.
In the second set, after an initial phase of great balance, it is the two blues who break serve first in the seventh game. However, the joy was short-lived, as the two U.S. women managed to bring the score back to even. At 5-4, Coco Gauff put the exclamation point on the match with a precise shot that pinched the line, giving her and Pegula access to the next round.
Errani and Paolini's commitments at Wimbledon, however, are not over yet, as Sara will be busy in the mixed doubles paired with Andrea Vavassori, while Jasmine, on the day tomorrow, will face Emma Navarro in the quarterfinals of the women's singles draw.
