The words of Juan Carlos Ferrero

Juan Carlos Ferrero, coach of Carlos Alcaraz, gave an interview to 'Marca' ahead of the Wimbledon semifinal between his pupil and Daniil Medvedev, who eliminated world number one Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals after five hard-fought sets.

"Medvedev è earned respect – admitted the Spaniard's coach – He beat Sinner, who in our opinion was almost unbeatable on grass because of his style of play. È it is true that Carlos plays differently from Jannik and can'hurt him a little more because of his style of play".

"We are focused to the maximum and with maximum precautions,” added the coach of the world number three. We beat Daniil here last year, but then it was he who beat us in the US Open semifinals. The fact that defeats do not affect him and help him improve says a lot about him. I am sure that on Friday he will try something different".

Should he win with Medvedev, Alcaraz could face Novak Djokovic again (opposite Lorenzo Musetti in the other semifinal) in the final: "He made a record recovery. I think he is quite well, but he says he is far from his best. Right now è in the semifinals. I have seen him move very well. He hits the ball fantastically here, especially if è indoors, because he doesn&#39t move at all and hits them all in the middle".
