Marin Pongracic toward the'farewell to Lecce

After selling off Morten Hjulmand in the last summer session, Lecce is reportedly one step away from making an excellent capital gain in this market session as well. According to reports from "Sky Sport", the Salento club is reportedly ready to sell Marin Pongracic to Rennes.

After being bought from Wolsfburg for 1.6 million euros, the Croatian defender è ready to leave Salento after two seasons for a sum around 15 million euros plus bonuses. In the last season, the 1997 class made 38 appearances between Serie A and Coppa Italia, in addition to two with Croatia at Euro 2024.

Negotiations are reportedly in the final stages and the official announcement of the outright transfer of the player could come as early as in the next few hours. The former Borussia Dortmund player also had admirers in Serie A, Bologna and Fiorentina above all, but in all likelihood he will continue his career in France.

Once Pongracic’s transfer to Rennes is finalized, DS Pantaleo Corvino will immediately set to work to find a worthy replacement for the young Croatian defender.
