Ciro Immobile to Besiktas, Lazio’s final farewell: ‘Just right’
The historic farewell comes with no regrets.
Calciomercato Lazio: Ciro Immobile leaves the biancocelesti and Serie A after a very long spell in the capital that lasted eight seasons. The Campania striker è in fact officially a new player of Besiktas, who announced his arrival on social media. The center forward, just before leaving for Turkey, wanted to greet the fans of the team he leaves as the highest scorer in history.
"It has been eight wonderful years, è it has all been fantastic – said Immobile, intercepted Friday evening by 'Sky Sport' at Fiumicino -. This journey è has been exceptional, but like all stories it had a beginning and now it is having its end. I still want to thank the fantastic Lazio fans, who have always given me everything".
Immobile è then dwelt on the decision to part ways with Lazio, made in his opinion without any cause for regret. "Everything è has been done with the utmost serenity, also because é the last year and a half has not è been very easy. It è not anyone's fault, but è rightly so;. The thing that matters è making choices like this with serenity; and I feel serene", explained the newly appointed Besiktas striker.
"I am a little bit sorry for my family, since we had found stability in Rome. But when è the Besiktas offer arrived, I also discussed it with my wife, as well as with the president", Immobile then revealed. Who did not completely rule out the possibility of a future return to Lazio as a manager: "We will see. Right now forò I still want to play, soì when an opportunity like this came my way I decided to take it".
