Simone Inzaghi raises the bar for next season
Simone Inzaghi’s words in press conference
Simone Inzaghi, fresh from his renewal with Inter until 2026, presented the 2024/2025 football season in a press conference: "Surely the biggest challenge will be to improve in commitment and daily work. The boys have done something extraordinary, but everyone is waiting for us and there will be an obligation to improve in all trainings and matches".
"As for the renewal, I am overjoyed, I thank the company, the president and all the managers,” added the Nerazzurri coach. “I feel at home and I feel appreciated, è this is the thing that counts more than anything. Last year I said our big goal was the second star and it has come, this year we want to make our fans happy because if they are happy, we are happy. What we did, the second star è of everyone. We have been one body and we will have to be one body again this year, together we have made this great journey and we would like to repeat it this year as well.
Market chapter: "I think the company" moved well in advance very well. We bought 3 players that were strongly wanted by me, the management and the president who are Martinez, Zielinski and Taremi. We had this setback with Buchanan that we are already evaluating, we have to complete in that role because heé will be absent until Christmas. As always my managers will be ready knowing that next year there will be almost 70 games. We are Inter we have a duty to play as many as possible and get to the bottom of the goals".
For the Scudetto we start from scratch according to the Piacenza coach: "We will have to be even more fierce, always be on the ball starting from training. Repeating a season like last year will be difficult. We will start again with all 0 points, other teams will also want to win. The last two Scudetto winners, Milan and Napoli, did not qualify for the Champions League the following year and I have already reminded my boys of that. As soon as all the boys return I will reiterate it to everyone".
"As far as the Champions League is concerned, we want to move forward as much as possible. We know that we are going to face big teams with big budgets but it should not be an alibi, we saw 2 years ago what we were able to do. Beyond the budget what counts is the interpretation and the desire that the boys put on the field" concluded Inzaghi.
