Erik Rohrs è a new player of Mint Vero Volleyball Monza

After renewing Ibrahim Lawani, Vero Volleyball Monza has announced the signing of German setter Erik Rohrs, thus adding one more piece to its roster ahead of the 2024-2025 season. The class of 2001 player, already on the roster of the senior national team, is considered one of the most promising German talents.

The 23-year-old slapper è grew up in Berlin in a VCO jersey, where he played from the 2017-18 season to the 2020-21 season, Rohrs è moved in 2021 to United Volleys Frankfurt, where he won his first DVV Cup final, as well as access to the playoffs, before moving to Düren. He stayed 2 years in a SWD Powervolleys jersey, with which he proved his full value and earned his first call-ups to the German senior national team, after convincing performances in the U23 selection.

In the last season, Rohrs moved to SVG Lüneburg, a team engaged in the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League, a competition in which he was eliminated in the first phase, in a group with Jastrzebski Wegiel (later finalist), Guaguas Las Palmas and Ceske Budejovice. In the upcoming season, the doors of the SuperLega, one of the most competitive leagues in the world, open for the class of 2001: with the jersey of MINT Vero Volley Monza, the setter will also play Champions League, Italian Cup and Italian Supercup.

"I am very happy to be a Monza player next season è a big step forward in my career moving from the German Bundesliga to the Italian SuperLega. I am very grateful for the opportunity that True Volleyball has given me: I look forward to repaying this trust by showing my qualities on the court. I spoke with Georg Grozer, who immediately advised me to accept Monza’s proposal. It was an easy decision: I hope to meet soon my new teammates, staff and all the fans, and to have a great season" these are the first statements of the player to the official channels of the team.
