Valentino Rossi-Marc Marquez: Casey Stoner points the finger at the Doctor
Casey Stoner to venom on Valentino Rossi
Former Australian racer Casey Stoner, in the podcast 'Ducati Diaries', è returned to the historic incident between Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez in Sepang in 2015: "Everyone blames Marquez, but they forget that è it was Valentino Rossi who started it. They were friends first and then Valentino started a war of words. And Marc fought back, because he didné t like it. You can’t scare someone like Marc Marquez. Valentino touched the rider on the grid more dangerous and lost a World Championship that he could win".
"Before Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo and I came along, Valentino è managed to get into the minds of the other riders by fighting them that way as well,‖ added the former world champion. But we, the new generation, had learned to defend ourselves. We knew what he was capable of. So è it was a mistake on his part to antagonize Márquez".
"I never understood why the English fans hated me so much – continued the'former Ducati centaur – They started doing it before I challenged Valentino Rossi, then when I challenged him the situation è it fell apart. Valentino è was very important for MotoGP and I found myself, in general, in the role of the bad guy or on the naughty list. Sometimes people who are not so extroverted get this kind of bad press, but I didn’t want to follow in Valentino’s footsteps or do what he did. That was his personality and he was great for the sport, I don’t criticize him. Maybe I should have been stupid, but I had a different character: I didn’t seek attention, I just wanted to ride hard".
"Dani Pedrosa è one of the people with whom I maintained relationships beyond racing. Despite our rivalry, I have nothing but respect for him and he has shown nothing but respect for me" concluded Stoner.
