De la Fuente’s team seeks fourth European title

This is it. Today è the day of Spain-England, the final of Euro 2024. Rendezvous in Berlin, starting at 9 p.m., for a highly anticipated and completely unprecedented final. Facing each other are two national teams at the antipodes in terms of the game offered but, each, with many reasons to dream of being Champions of Europe.

As highlighted by Marca, Spain has a squad with a lower economic value than that of the Three Lions. The Red Furies’ squad is worth a total of 965 million euros, compared to 1,500 million for the English national team. However, from what is è seen on the field, the favorites seem to be the Spaniards.

Should they succeed in winning the trophy, Spain would become the most titled national team in European Championship history. At the moment, it has won on three occasions (1964, 2008 and 2012), exactly on par with Germany. By beating England, it would be first in the special ranking of victories for nations.

It should be noted that Spain has lost only once in the final, in 1984 to Platini’s France. The last success, however, è was the bombastic 4-0 with which the Red Furies swept aside Buffon and co. in the final act of Euro 2012. Today Spain is playing for a record against an England side dreaming of its first European title and, above all, a reason to celebrate after a full 58 years of waiting (World Cup won in 1966).
