Martina Trevisan returns to success in Bastad
Martina Trevisan queen of Bastad
Martina Trevisan won her first career WTA 125 title. The Tuscan tennis player, in fact, demolished the U.S. Ann Li, number 134 in the world rankings, with a net 6-2 6-2 after an hour and ten minutes of play in the final of the Nordea Open, played on the clay courts of Bastad, played on Sunday instead of Saturday, due to bad weather.
A match that was never in dispute between Trevisan and Li: Martina breaks her opponent’s serve in the opening game and confirms the lead (2-0). In the fifth game, the Italian got a new break (4-1) that paved the way for her to win the first partial, closed 6-2 in her favor.
The second set has a script almost identical to the first one: Trevisan again scratches the break in the opening game and doubles it in the fifth game (4-1). The Tuscan does not even concede a break ball to the American and without any problem files the file on the final 6-2, giving herself the title.
With this triumph Trevisan climbs a dozen positions in the WTA ranking, returning to the top 80 from Monday, July 15.
