Adrian Panatta puts Sinner and Alcaraz on the same level and downsizes Djokovic

During an episode of the well-known Podcast" La Telefonata", Adriano Panatta, among other topics, wanted to bluntly analyze the performance of various players in the Wimbledon tournament, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic above all. In his analysis, the former tennis player è dwelt on the Spaniard’s triumph in the British Slam and on the Serbian’s gap from the Murcian and the Alto Adige’s.

"Djokovic è made it to the final thanks to a decidedly easier draw. He faced Rune in the round of 16, who beats himself, while I have to admit that against Musetti I was a bit deluded by the level of play he expressed. Against Alcaraz, however, we è saw a clear difference" debuted the'former Italian tennis player.

"Carlos è already a very strong player, but he still has moments when he does things that make little sense, such as his handling of the 10th game, at 5-4 in the third set when he hit three match-points. As far as I am concerned he and Sinner are tied for first in terms of what they have shown this year. This logic of basing the ranking on last year&#39s results I do not understand" continued the 1976 Roland Garros winner.

"Novak I don&#39t think he has what it takes to beat Carlos or Jannik and for the Games I think it&#39s going to be a deal between the two of them as far as the gold is concerned. In the women’s, on the other hand, Jasmine Paolini is going through an excellent moment of form and I am convinced she will be able to compete for a medal in Paris" added the Rome native.

"Musetti played well, forò he still waits too long. When you play against Djokovic, you cannot hope that he will give you the match. You have to play more aggressive and five feet more forward, which he did in part in this Wimbledon" concluded Adriano Panatta.
