Better Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz? Rod Laver answers.
With the victory at Wimbledon, the Spaniard è to four Slams won
Alcaraz triumphed at Wimbledon, bringing the number of Slam events won to four. The Spaniard has a significant lead over Sinner, who has stopped short of this year's major feat at the Australian Open. However, in the ATP ranking, the top position è still in the hands of the South Tyrolean.
Many wonder who is really the best between these two world tennis stars. The Djokovic era seems to be at an end (although the Serb does not seem intent on raising the white flag) and there seems to be no one capable of playing at the level of the two new kings of the tennis world.
Laver, a living tennis legend, spoke about the rivalry between Sinner and Alcaraz, also trying to give his own personal answer to the question that every tennis fan is asking, which is who is really the stronger of the two: "I think it is still hard to tell who between the two will be more successful or win more. È a rivalryà very fresh, and è very interesting to watch their evolution and see where they will arrive", his clear words to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The two duelists are looking forward to two events they hold dear, namely the Olympics and, next, the US Open, the last Slam of the season. Clearly, two tournaments that may give further indications as to who is, really, the best between Sinner and Alcaraz, the two new rulers of tennis.
