Davide Ballerini renews with Astana Qazaqstan

Davide Ballerini has renewed his contract with the WorldTour Astana Qazaqstan Team. According to the new agreement, the rider from Lombardy will continue to race with the Kazakh team for the next two seasons (2025 and 2026).

"The beginning of the season was not the best for me due to a knee injury,” the Italian admitted to the team’s official channels, “but with the team’s support, I managed to fully recover and return to a high level of form. Unfortunately, I had to skip the whole classics season, but now everything is going well. I participated in the Giro d'Italia, and now I am here in the Tour de France".

"There are many goals I would like to achieve both this year and in the future. I believe that together with the Astana Qazaqstan team I can achieve them all. So, I am very happy to extend my contract with the team where I really feel at home" concluded Ballerini.

"We know very well Davide’s qualities as a rider; è a true professional. Although he missed the first months of the season, since April Davide has shown an impressive level. He had a very good Giro, and now he is also doing very well in the Tour de France, providing incredible support to Mark Cavendish. Of course, è one of our key riders for the classics, and we believe he will stand out; in the coming season. We have serious goals, and riders like Davide Ballerini should be the basis of the team not only for the classics but also for the Grand Tours", added Alexandr Vinokurov, General Manager of the Astana Qazaqstan team.
