The Italian men’s national rugby team lands in Japan. The second group of the Azzurri – composed mostly of part of the staff and the players who took the field in the match won against Tonga in Nuku’alofa last Friday’– reached Tokyo-Narita airport this evening joining the’other part of the team that had reached the Japanese capital on Sunday evening.

In the afternoon today, the first group did some work in the gym, while tomorrow the whole squad will have a morning of recovery and then focus in the afternoon on video analysis meetings on the next opponent – Japan – which the Azzurri will face in Sapporo on Sunday, July 21 at 2:05 p.m. local time (7:05 a.m. Italian time) at the Sapporo Dome.

“The one against Japan will be a different match than the ones against Samoa and Tonga. This is a team – said Manuel Zuliani in today’s press meeting – very fast and less physical than the other two opponents we faced in the first two Test Matches. Our approach never changes: there may be some variations, but we always try to prepare as best we can regardless of the team we are going to face”.

“Japan è a different team than the one we faced last year in Treviso. They have a new staff and a generational change going on. We will prepare the game as best we can with the goal of closing the summer tour”.

Closing on the first day spent in Japan: “It’s a very respectful and polite people. The’impact è was very nice from the moment we landed” concluded Zuliani.

On Wednesday’17 and Thursday’18, training sessions are scheduled at the Urayasu D-Rocks facilities. Friday, July 19 è is scheduled to travel to Sapporo where Saturday, July 20 Italy will be on stage for the Team Run and Sunday, July 21 will face Japan at 2:05 p.m. local
