Nicolas Viola remains at Cagliari

Now è official: Nicolas Viola remains at Cagliari. The Italian midfielder, who had a contract with the Rossoblù club that expired last June 30, will play at least another year in Sardinia. This was announced by the island club itself through an official statement.

"Cagliari Calcio è pleased to announce that it has reached a new agreement with Nicolas Viola – reads the note of the Sardinian club -: the player has signed a contract that will bind him to the Rossoblù colors until June 30, 2025 with an option to extend in favor of the club for a’further season".

In Sardinia since’summer 2022, the class ’89 fantasist immediately put all his experience and quality at the service of the team. In his first official match with Cagliari, in the Coppa Italia against Perugia, he è presented himself to the Rossobl&ugrave fans, scoring the winning goal on a free kick: a brushstroke from 20 meters, a magic, for the final 3-2.  A leader on and off the field, a point of reference for the locker room, he has made his important contribution to the conquest of Serie A, always being ready whenever called upon.

È was among the undisputed protagonists of the season just past: between the league and Coppa Italia he collected 28 matches, with 6 goals and 3 assists. Talent, flair, tactical wisdom, heavy goals such as those scored at the Unipol Domus against Genoa and Atalanta, decisive for the 3 points, or again the goal of the 2-2 in Milan against Inter.
