Legend Stan Smith’s advice to Jannik Sinner
The American è was No. 1 in the world in 1972
The rivalry between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz è is increasingly a topic of discussion. The two young world tennis stars intrigue and divide fans. There'è those who root for the Italian and those for the Spaniard but all agree that they are the two of them the new kings of the racket.
Stan Smith, former world No. 1 (1972) and winner at both Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, is also convinced of this."Sinner and Alcaraz are the present, but more importantly, the future of tennis and will give birth to a long-lasting rivalry," the words of the 1970s tennis legend to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Stan Smith can afford the luxury, from the height of his enormous experience (in fact è he is still a tennis coach), of giving advice to the current world No. 1: "I think he must continue to work on his serve where he è already improved considerably". Carlos Alcaraz also has ample room for improvement: "Carlos occasionally has moments of disorder or distraction that he needs to work on".
In short, two phenomena that can grow further. All for the benefit of the public who can't wait to see them again against each other to see who is, really, the better of the two of them. The next event where they could find themselves facing each other is the Olympics, scheduled to take place in Paris. On clay, Jannik Sinner seems to have an edge, but he will have to prove it on the court.
