It is no mystery that Valentino Rossi is an idol for so many riders of the new generation: among them is Pedro Acosta, who has never hidden his admiration for the nine-time world champion. In an interview filmed by 'Marca', Acosta himself revealed a backstory dating back to 2021, explaining that he was very close to joining the VR46 Racing Team, founded by 'The Doctor' himself, when the team was in Moto2.

"At the time there was talk precisely of going to the VR46 Team, there were good possibilities, but due to a question of sponsors the negotiation did not è materialize" explained Acosta, who at the end of 2021, after winning the Moto3 World Championship, decided to face the Moto2 World Championship in 2022 riding the bike of the Red Bull KTM Ajo team.

Failure to land in the association founded by Valentino Rossi has not affected what è a strong mutual esteem: "When I tested in MotoGp I talked a lot with him, I told him how I felt when I rode this kind of bike and he taught me some things, helped me".

Acosta also participated, last January, in the '100 km of Champions', an event organized by Valentino Rossi himself at the Ranch in Tavullia: "It was incredible to see how he managed such an appointment, è he was always very close to us guys" said the rider currently involved in MotoGp with the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 team.
