Vasseur’s words

In the world of Formula 1, the future of Adrian Newey, given as a possible reinforcement at the Ferrari race wall, is holding court. The team principal of the Scuderia di Maranello, Frederic Vasseur, interviewed by Auto Motor und Sport, commented as follows: "Would it be the same if they asked me ‘are you interested in Max Verstappen? I would like to see which team principal would say no".

"It would be a serious technical mistake on my part if I didn’t think about Newey. This issue needs to be framed differently. Would he fit well within the team? What would he bring to the team for the future? Sometimes one plus; one does not make two, but two and a half. Newey è certainly a theme, as well as è a theme for all”.

“Since I have been at Ferrari we have hired about 50 engineers from the other racing teams. I could have done one press release a week, but I preferred not to do that so as not to expose individuals. We only make exceptions when it comes to important positions within the team or when something changes in important positions such as strategy, sports director and technical director. I think this is a good policy. It protects employees and treats everyone the same".
