History continues to be rewritten, and the limits are yet to be discovered.

Jannik Sinner è number 1 in the ATP ranking, a position that currently makes him the number 1 tennis player in the world. A historic and unprecedented achievement for Italian tennis, which però does not represent a mere goal. The San Candido champion canò in fact further rewrite the history books, alreadyà over the course of the coming weeks and commitments that await him after the Paris Olympics.

As it stands, in fact, Sinner has already spent six weeks at the top of the world tennis rankings, reaching in that sense the total that Marcelo Rios, Thomas Muster and Yevgeni Kafelnikov achieved in their entire careers. The next colleagues he could join would be John Newcombe and Juan Carlos Ferrero, stopped at 8, and then pointing to Marat Safin (9) and a living racquet legend like Boris Becker, who will not goò beyond 12.

Becker himself, moreover, decided to talk about Sinner in an interview published Wednesday by the 'Corriere dello Sport'. "In the last year he has made great progress that has allowed him to win a Slam, become more consistent in every tournament and reach the top of the world rankings, but I think his problem in handling fifth sets" is clear, è was the German’s reflection.

"When an opponent takes it to the fifth set, he canò have this belief: the more I can stretch the match, the more my chances against Sinner increase. Jannik will have to try to improve his performance in the deciding fraction of Grand Slam tournaments, especially if he wants to have a better chance of holding his own against Carlos Alcaraz in the majors", Becker added.
