Paris Olympics: Azzurri to medal
Born in Innichen on Aug. 16, 2011, Jannik Sinner at least until the age of 13, è a skiing promise. Tennis è only a hobby but, after his first disappointments on snow, he decided to hold the racket for good. Already reported to Andrea Sartori, Andreas Seppi’s historical coach, in the summer of 2015 he moved to Bordighera under the guidance of Riccardo Piatti, with whom he began his climb.
The turning point, forò comes in February 2022, when he relies on Simone Vagnozzi and, after a few months, also on 'super coach' Australian Darren Cahill, former coach (among others) of Lleyton Hewitt, Andre Agassi and Simona Halep. In just a few months he earns a place in the history of blue sport. In November 2023 he towed the national team to Malaga, bringing the Davis Cup back to Italy 47 years after the first time.
In January 2024 he triumphed at the Australian Open while in June he overtook Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and became world number one: achievements never before achieved by any tricolor tennis player. In between he also won two Masters 1000s, as well as ten other titles on the major circuit.
During tournaments è glacial and reserved. Compared to the spotlight, in fact, he prefers to indulge in a game of cards with his team members or a match on the playstation, in addition to following the matches of his favorite team: AC Milan. Now he è ready to carry Italy's name high in Paris 2024 as well.
