Jasmine Paolini è was born Jan. 4, 1996, in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, in the province of Lucca, to an Italian father and Polish mother, and grew up between Carrara and Forte dei Marmi. She has Ghanaian roots through her maternal grandfather and a younger brother named William, who is also a tennis player.
Her passion for tennis è was mainly influenced by her uncle Adriano, the first to notice her abilities and bring her to TC Mirafiume, from where she began her climb. 2016 marked a turning point in her career, the year she began working with current coach Renzo Furlan, continuing full-time after the pandemic.
In 2024, she asserted herself by winning the Dubai WTA 1000 and reaching the Roland Garros final in both singles and doubles, the latter with Sara Errani, after having won the Internazionali d'Italia the previous month as a partner with the Romagna-born player. In early July, she became the first Italian tennis player in history to reach the final at Wimbledon.
Fifth in the world rankings, in 2023 she took Italy into the final at the Billie Jean King Cup. Known for her spontaneity and constant smile, in Paris she will live her second Olympic experience with an ambitious goal: to get a medal in both the singles and doubles tournaments.
