Vero Volley Monza: the calendar in Superleague
At the Zanhotel & Centergross in Bologna, home for years of the three-day Volleyball Market, the Men’s Volleyball League Serie A unveiled in the afternoon the calendar of the 80th edition of the Italian SuperLega Credem Banca Championship. Among the 12 teams that will compete for the Tricolor next season is coach Massimo Eccheli’s Vero Volley Monza in its 11th consecutive year in the top league.
The men’s first team of the Vero Volleyball Consortium will try further to improve and write another page full of emotions, after being the protagonist last year of an extraordinary ride that ended not only with the second place behind only the Champions of Italy of Sir Safety Perugia but also with the pass for the most important of the European Cups, the CEV Champions League 2024/25.
After the institutional greetings from the authorities and the Presidents, of the Men’s Volleyball League Serie A Massimo Righi, CEV Aleksandar Boricic and FIPAV Giuseppe Manfredi, è it was time to officially unveil the calendar for the upcoming season.
The Monzese team’s first challenge è set for an away match on Sunday, September 29, against newly promoted to Series A1, Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina. The season opener at Monza’s Opiquad Arena for Beretta and teammates will be on Sunday, Oct. 6, instead, in the match against Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza. After the third day in the Marche region on Sunday, Oct. 13, in Civitanova against Cucine Lube, the Brianza lineup will host the Lombardy derby against Allianz Milano on Sunday, Oct. 20, and then travel to Modena to take on Valsa Group on Sunday, Oct. 27. On the sixth day, the Monzese will host the Taranto-based Gioiella Prisma on Sunday, Nov. 3, while they will play against Sonepar Padova on Sunday, Nov. 10. Vero Volleyball will be busy on Sunday, Nov. 17 again in front of the home crowd, against Rana Verona, while taking on Itas Trentino on Sunday, Nov. 24, for the ninth day. On the tenth day è the big-match against Sir Susa Vim Perugia is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 1, while the last round of the season is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 8 in Lazio against Cisterna Volleyball.
During the afternoon, the dates of the other events in which Vero Volley Monza will be involved were also unveiled. The Final Four of the Del Monte SuperCoppa will be played on September 21-22, 2024 at Palazzo Wanny in Florence, with Monza taking on Trento in the semifinals (the other challenge will be Perugia-Piacenza) while Bologna will still be the venue for the Final Four of the Italian Cup, scheduled for January 25-26, 2025.
