Luciano Darderi rematched and defeated in the quarters in Hamburg

Luciano Darderi's run at the Hamburg ATP 500 stopped in the quarterfinals. The Italian, in fact, è surrendered in three sets to the Argentine Sebastian Baez, third seed in the seeding and number 19 in the world, who è imposed himself in a comeback with the final score of 2-6 6-4 6-4 after two hours and seventeen minutes of play.
Darderi gets off to a strong start: in the fourth game he snatches the serve from Baez and goes up 3-1. The Blue doubles the break in the sixth game (5-1) but called upon to serve for the set gives up serve for the first time (5-2). It matters little forò because in the next game the Italo-Argentine signed another break and cashed the first partial (6-2).
The second partial è more balanced: Darderi did not exploit a break point on 3-3 and in the next game he paid dearly for it, losing his service game (3-4). Baez, however, did not confirm the lead (4-4) but in the ninth game he once again took the serve away from the blue, then closing the score on the final 6-4.
In the third set Baez goes ahead immediately, scratching the break in the third game (2-1). The Argentine confirmed the lead (3-1) and in the seventh game broke Darderi again (5-2), somewhat affected by a back problem for which he asked for a medical time-out on 2-3. The Azure, however, did not give up and climbed back up to 4-5, but in the tenth game Baez closed the score on serve on his second match point.
