F1, Gp Hungary: more doubts than certainties for Charles Leclerc
Still some problems for Charles Leclerc
After the high-speed bang that compromised his participation in Practice 2, Charles Leclerc is still unable to find the right feeling with his Ferrari at the Hungaroring and, thanks to a couple of mistakes in the flying laps, he doesn't go beyond 11th place in the third and final free practice session of the Hungarian GP. It will need more than that, in qualifying, not to start from the belly of the pack on a circuit where overtaking is quite complex.
Leading the platoon, in terms of times, è again Lando Norris on McLaren, who confirms the good things he showed on Friday afternoon by putting everyone behind him thanks to a time of 1:16.098. Behind him teammate Oscar Piastri, at 44 thousandths, while Max Verstappen (Red Bull) è third at 281 thousandths.
Ferrari, in spite of Leclerc’s difficulties, can count on a Carlos Sainz who, although without any particular sharpness, stays among the top and closes Practice 3 in fifth place (at 541 thousandths from Norris), behind George Russell’s Mercedes, which in turn is able to give almost two tenths to teammate Lewis Hamilton, tenth.
Qualifying for the Hungarian GP is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday: last year Hamilton won the pole position, with a time of 1:16.609, but in the race Max Verstappen prevailed, who climbed to the top step of the podium along with Norris and Sergio Perez, the latter at the wheel of the other Red Bull.
