Giovanni De Gennaro was born in Brescia on July 21, 1992. After playing basketball for a few years, he took up karate, without, however, finding his true passion until he followed in the footsteps of his older brother Riccardo, thus managing to combine his love for nature with his profession.
The blue canoeist, who specializes in the Kayak Cross and Slalom K1 disciplines, è is a fervent music lover and plays the guitar passionately. When he is not training, he loves watching basketball games with friends.
He has participated in two editions of the Olympic Games, but without achieving the results he hoped for: finishing seventh in Rio 2016 and 14th in Tokyo 2020. As a top athlete and professional, he aims to aim for the podium in Paris.
