Paris 2024 Olympics, painful forfeit for Jannik Sinner
Jannik Sinner skips Paris 2024 Olympics
Jannik Sinner is skipping the Paris 2024 Olympics. After postponing as a precautionary measure his departure for Paris a few days ago due to the flu, the South Tyrolean was unable to recover in time from the health problem and through a message on his Instagram account officially announced his withdrawal from the Five Circles event.
"I am saddened that unfortunately he will not be able to participate in the Olympic Games in Paris. After a good week of training on earth I started not feeling well. I spent a couple of days resting and on examination the doctor found tonsillitis and strongly advised against playing.
Missing the Games è a huge disappointment since it was one of my main goals for this season. I was looking forward to representing my country in this very important event. Best of luck to all the Italian athletes that I will be supporting from home.
Forza Italia!" this is the message of Jannik Sinner.
In the coming hours, the FITP will announce who will take the South Tyrolean's place in the singles draw.
