Scariolo’s Spain explains to Pozzecco’s Italy how to demolish Puerto Rico
107-84 in Madrid
Heading to France, Spain decided to bid farewell to its public in a memorable way and lived up to expectations. In the last test before the Games, the Scariolo-band showed off its best performance against Puerto Rico, which will be in Paris, as Italy well knows.
The men in red put on a show from the three-point line, with an impressive 20 of 46, against a Puerto Rican team that was timid and really ineffective on defense.
Thanks to excellent team play, the group led by Santi Aldama with 20 points, Llull with 16 and Juancho Hernangómez with 16 dominated Nelson Colón’s lineup by a score of 107-84, maintaining a 20-point lead for much of the game.
