Olympics: there'è immediately a world record!

The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics is still a day away, but the first world record è has already been broken. It was achieved by archer Sihyeon Lim, who broke the world record in the ranking round of the women's archery competition with a score of 694 points.

The South Korean broke the previous record set in 2019 in 's-Hertognebosch by compatriot Chaeyoung Kang.

Italy's Chiara Rebagliati finished the ranking round in 15th place with 663 points. The archers will be back on the field next Wednesday in the elimination competitions: Rebagliati, the only Italian at the start, will face off against Malaysia’s Mohamad Zairi in the first round of the knockout phase.
