China, South Korea and Kazakhstan make up the first podium for Paris 2024
It's China's first gold medal, in order, of the 2024 Olympic Games. The Chinese pair of Sheng Lihao and Huang Yuting won the most precious metal in shooting sports at the end of the 10m air rifle mixed team final. Silver for South Korea, bronze for Kazakhstan.
In the very final, Sheng and Huang prevailed 16-12 against the Korean pair, consisting of Keum Jiyeon and Park Hajun. In the final for bronze, however, Kazakhstan’s Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev defeated Germany, whose standard-bearers were Maximilian Ulbrich and Anna Janssen, 17-5.
Nothing to do for Italy's representatives: Barbara Gambaro and Danilo Dennis Sollazzo did not go beyond seventeenth place in the preliminaries, which qualified the first two pairs for the final for gold and the pairs in third and fourth place for the final for bronze.
For Sheng Lihao, 19 years old last Dec. 4, it è the second Olympic medal after silver, in the same competition, in Tokyo 2020. For Huang Yuting, born Sept. 3, 2006, and already a two-time world champion in the 10m mixed team rifle, è on the other hand, it is the first medal in the Five Circles Games.
